Certified Nursing Assistant Job Description October 2023 LOCATION - MONROEVILLE We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide direct care and support to individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) in a residential group home setting. The CNA will assist individuals with daily living activities, personal care, community participation, health monitoring, and maintaining a safe and supportive environment that promotes dignity, independence, and quality of life. Responsibilities Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding Provide companionship, emotional support, and positive encouragement Monitor and document individuals' health status, behaviors, and daily activities Take and record vital signs as needed Assist with medication reminders and follow agency policies regarding medication administration Support individuals during community outings, appointments, and recreational activities Maintain a clean, safe, and organized living environment Follow individualized care plans and behavior support plans Report changes in condition, incidents, or concerns to supervisors promptly Assist individuals with mobility, transfers, and positioning when necessary Ensure compliance with state regulations, agency policies, and safety procedures Work collaboratively with supervisors, nurses, DSPs, families, and healthcare professionals Qualifications Current CNA certification in the State of Pennsylvania High school diploma or GED Experience working with individuals with IDD, mental health, or behavioral health preferred CPR/First Aid Certification preferred Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred Ability to pass background checks and drug screening Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills Ability to lift, transfer, and assist individuals as needed Skills & Abilities Compassionate and patient-centered approach Dependable and professional work ethic Ability to handle challenging behaviors calmly and appropriately Strong teamwork and problem-solving skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries Benefits Competitive Pay Flexible Scheduling Paid Training Supportive Team Environment Opportunities for
