Job Description

Newtown Foot & Ankle Specialists • Newtown, PA • Full-Time Lead Medical Assistant Clinical support and team coordination for a busy podiatric surgery practice. About the role We're looking for an experienced, organized Lead Medical Assistant to join our clinical team. You'll work directly alongside our physicians, assist with patient care, and take ownership of medical supply management and team coordination. This role is right for someone who leads by example, communicates clearly, and is comfortable in a fast-moving specialty environment. We welcome applications from Certified or Registered Medical Assistants, LPNs, and nurses looking for a clinical role outside of a hospital or long-term care setting. What you'll do Room patients, take vitals, and document chief complaints; assist physicians throughout the clinical encounter Provide direct patient care including wound care and dressing changes for patients with significant foot and leg wounds — you are comfortable with this and it does not faze you Educate patients on recommended services and treatments, obtain written consent, and ensure all required documentation is complete prior to care — keeping the practice compliant and patients fully informed Own medical supply ordering — monitor inventory levels, place orders through vendor portals, confirm delivery, and keep the clinical team stocked Serve as team lead for the MA staff — set the standard, keep things running smoothly, and support colleagues through busy days Communicate clearly with patients, physicians, front desk, and vendors — you're the connective tissue between the clinical and operational sides of the practice Order and follow Therapeutic Shoe and other custom DME for Medicare eligible patients What we're looking for Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA), LPN, or RN — podiatry or surgical specialty experience a strong plus. Nurses transitioning out of hospital or long-term care settings are encouraged to apply. Genuinely comfortable caring for patients with substantial lower extremity wounds — this is a routine part of the job and requires calm, professional handling Highly organized — you track what needs to be ordered, what's running low, and what's expected of you without being reminded Strong communicator — with patients, with physicians, and with your team Comfortable with computers — EHR documentation and online ordering portals are part of every day however this is not a desk job Natural leader — you keep your colleagues focused, set a good standard, and don't need to be managed closely Availability to start at 6:30 AM — our first patients arrive at 7:00 AM and the team needs to be ready before they walk in Reliably present and genuinely warm with patients and respectful to every member of the team About us Newtown Foot & Ankle Specialists is a podiatric surgery group in Newtown, Bucks County, PA. Our team includes five providers, and we offer a full range of podiatric care including EPAT shockwave therapy, Lapiplasty 3D bunion correction, exosome therapy, custom orthotics, on-site x-ray/ultrasound, and general foot and ankle surgery. We move quickly, we hold high standards, and we take care of our patients and our team.
Pay:
$16.00 - $20.00 per hour
