Position Responsibilities/Expectations:

Answers signal lights, bells, or intercom system to determine resident's needs. Bathes, dresses, and undresses residents. Assists residents with bowl and bladder training and/or provides incontinence care. Document intake/output as required. Serves and collects food trays and feeds residents requiring help. Is familiar with special diets and dietary restrictions. Transports residents or assists residents to walk. Perform restorative nursing programs and ROM exercises as directed by physical therapist or professional nurse. Turns and reposition bed-fast residents, alone or with assistance, to prevent bedsores. Uses hoyer lift, soft stretcher and/or transfer belt as directed by physical therapist for professional nurse. Changes bed linens, runs errands, directs visitors, and answers phone. Takes and records temperature, pulse and respiration rates, and food/fluid intake and output, as directed. Transport and fill oxygen tanks, transports other equipment as needed. Maintains work areas and resident rooms in an orderly fashion. Provide postmortem care. Maintains universal precautions when working with residents.

Education/Experience:

High School Diploma or GED preferred, but not required. Graduate from a state approved C.N.A. training. Prior sub-acute and/or long term care a plus, but not required. Basic addition and subtraction skills

Requirements:

Current Pennsylvania Certified Nursing Assistant License Physical Demands:

Employee is regularly required to walk. Frequently required to stand and use hands to finger, handle or feel. Occasionally required to sit, reach with hands and arms and talk and/or hear.
