07 Position Summary
UNM-Valencia
is seeking a full-time Administrative Assistant 2 who will work in the Nursing
Department. The individual will provide administrative support and is the main
point of contact for the department. This person will be responsible for
relaying and resolving routine telephone and/or walk-up inquiries, student
questions, and providing instructor assistance as needed, relating to the
program. This position requires ability to communicate effectively, both
written and verbally, with faculty, students and staff. Located about 30 miles south of Albuquerque in rural
Valencia County, The University of Mexico-Valencia Campus is a two-year
branch campus of The University of Mexico which functions as a community
college in the region and is designated a Hispanic Serving Institution.
With an emphasis on teaching excellence, Valencia Campus offers academic
transfer programs, technical programs, Adult Education, and Dual Credit courses
to high schools in Valencia and Socorro Counties. The faculty and staff

All regular, non-temporary positions assigned to this classification are represented by a labor union and subject to the terms and conditions of the US-UNM Collective Bargaining Agreement. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. Demonstrated experience at a community college or university
