Job Description

Job Overview As a Home Health Aide, you will play a crucial role in providing compassionate care and support to individuals in their homes. Your responsibilities will include assisting with daily living activities, monitoring patient health, and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment. This position is ideal for individuals who are dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for those they care for, including seniors and individuals with disabilities. Duties Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation Monitor and document vital signs, including blood pressure and pulse Provide personal care services including catheter care and assistance with mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts Administer medications as prescribed and ensure proper documentation in EMR or EHR systems Observe patients for changes in condition or behavior and report findings to healthcare professionals Maintain a clean and safe living environment through light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, particularly those with Alzheimer's or dementia care needs Follow HIPAA guidelines to protect patient privacy and confidentiality Assist with hospice care when necessary, ensuring comfort for patients at the end of life Qualifications Previous experience in home health, senior care, or long-term care settings preferred Knowledge of medical terminology and experience with medical documentation is essential CPR certification is required; additional certifications in caregiving or specialized training in memory care or developmental disabilities are a plus Strong observational skills to monitor patient conditions effectively Ability to work independently as well as part of a team while providing compassionate care Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems is beneficial for accurate record keeping This position requires a commitment to providing high-quality patient care while maintaining the dignity and respect of those you serve.
