Now Hiring Caregivers (PCA / CNA) - Virginia Beach Area Hamptonroads Home Care Virginia Beach, VA Job Details Full-time From $14 an hour 23 hours ago Benefits 401(k) Qualifications Interpersonal skills Assisting with ADLs High school diploma or GED Driver's License Bathing assistance Full Job Description Position Summary We are seeking dependable and compassionate Personal Care Aides (PCA) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) to provide in-home and community-based support for clients in the Virginia Beach area. This opportunity is ideal for individuals who are dedicated to delivering high-quality care, companionship, and hands-on assistance to those who need help with daily living. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Under the guidance of a Nurse Manager and in line with each client's care plan, responsibilities include: Providing companionship and emotional encouragement to clients in their homes Assisting with mobility support, including transfers, walking assistance, and wheelchair use Helping with meal-related needs such as planning, grocery shopping, and food preparation Delivering personal care services including bathing, grooming, toileting, and hygiene support Performing light housekeeping tasks and laundry duties Offering reminders and support for clients taking their own medications Monitoring and recording fluid intake/output and reporting any notable condition changes Accompanying clients to medical appointments and assisting with essential errands Recordkeeping & Communication Accurately document daily care activities using an electronic timekeeping system Promptly report any concerns regarding a client's health, behavior, or safety to supervisory staff Participate in required ongoing education, including annual training hours and scheduled team meetings Ideal Candidate We are looking for individuals who are caring, reliable, and respectful in all interactions. The ideal caregiver demonstrates patience, professionalism, and a strong dedication to maintaining client dignity, safety, and confidentiality. Skills and Qualifications Familiarity with caregiving practices, particularly for older adults Experience working with clients who have dementia or other memory-related conditions is a plus Basic ability to use phone and email for communication Understanding of applicable state healthcare standards and guidelines Strong verbal and written communication skills in English Ability to work in a variety of settings, including private residences and care facilities Commitment to ethical caregiving and strict confidentiality Work Setting & Physical Demands This role takes place in client homes and/or care facilities. It is physically active and may involve frequent standing, bending, and assisting with mobility tasks, including lifting support of up to 250 lbs with assistance. This is a fully in-person position and does not offer remote work. Requirements Must be 18 years of age or older High school diploma or GED equivalent required Active PCA certification or CNA license Minimum of 1 year of caregiving experience preferred Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, current auto insurance, and up-to-date TB clearance
