Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide high-quality patient care across various healthcare settings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient support, medical documentation, and familiarity with EMR/EHR systems. This role offers an opportunity to work supporting patients with a wide range of needs including geriatrics, pediatrics, behavioral health. The CNA will play a vital role in ensuring patient comfort, safety, and dignity while adhering to all healthcare regulations and standards. Duties Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts. Monitor and record vital signs accurately using proper techniques and document findings in medical records or EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or eClinicalWorks. Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and safety protocols. Provide specialized care for patients with conditions such as Alzheimer's disease, dementia, developmental disabilities, or behavioral health needs. Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures like catheter care and infection control practices. Assist with patient transfers, positioning, and mobility to prevent falls or injuries. Support clinical staff in procedures related to ICU, emergency medicine, trauma centers (Level I & II), pediatrics (PICU), or post-acute care environments. Educate patients and families about treatment plans and health maintenance strategies. Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations including HIPAA and safety standards. Document all patient interactions thoroughly in medical records systems like Meditech or Home & Community Care documentation platforms. Requirements Valid CNA certification with current licensure in Rhode Island. Ability to pass a background check Experience working in various healthcare settings such as hospitals nursing homes, assisted living facilities, hospice or home care environments. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Axxess, Cerner, eClinicalWorks, or similar platforms. Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and basic life support techniques. Ability to perform tasks requiring physical strength including lifting (Hoyer lift) and repositioning patients safely. Strong communication skills for effective patient interaction and documentation. Experience caring for patients with complex needs such as infectious diseases, behavioral health issues, or post-operative recovery is preferred. Working knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of patient information. Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams .
