Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated CNA Memory Care Specialist to join our team and provide exceptional care to residents with memory impairments, including Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia or mental health issues. In this vital role, you will deliver personalized assistance, promote safety, and foster a supportive environment that enhances residents' quality of life. Responsibilities Provide direct personal care to residents with memory impairments, including assistance with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary. Monitor residents' vital signs and observe for any changes in condition, promptly reporting findings to nursing staff. Implement individualized care plans focused on dementia and Alzheimer's care strategies to promote safety, comfort, and engagement. Administer medications following proper protocols and document all medication administration accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner. Assist with medical procedures including catheter care, phlebotomy, and aseptic techniques during clinical tasks. Support residents' emotional well-being through engaging activities, therapeutic interactions, and creating a calm environment that reduces agitation or confusion. Maintain detailed medical documentation, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and proper medical records management. Utilize specialized equipment like Hoyer lifts safely and effectively while adhering to safety standards for patient service and injury prevention. Qualifications Certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with current state licensure required. Prior experience working in long-term care facilities such as assisted living or nursing homes preferred; experience in memory care or dementia-specific settings highly valued. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support (BLS). Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation. Experience with medication administration, catheter care, vital signs monitoring, and infection control practices including aseptic technique. Ability to work effectively with individuals experiencing behavioral health challenges related to cognitive decline or disabilities. Critical care experience from hospital settings such as ICU or emergency medicine is advantageous but not required; a passion for senior care is essential. Strong communication skills coupled with a compassionate approach to caregiving in diverse populations including those with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs. Pay:
$14.50 - $16.00 per hour
