Certified Nursing Assistant

Job Overview The Certified Nursing Assistant provides direct, compassionate, and skilled personal care to individuals with disabilities in a homebased setting. Services are tailored to each consumer's plan of care, goals, and abilities, with a focus on promoting physical comfort, emotional well-being, independence, and dignity. Responsibilities

• Provide activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, feeding, and mobility assistance, maintaining privacy and dignity at all times.
• Assist with skin care for residents with incontinence or prolonged sitting, and provide extra care to prevent skin breakdown.
• Transport and move residents safely using wheelchairs, lifts, or other assistive devices; maintain a safe environment by removing obstacles and inspecting equipment.
• Monitor vital signs, fluid intake/output, and report changes promptly to the RN.
• Assist with feeding and nutrition—prepares meals, serves nourishment, encourages eating, and reports changes in appetite.
• Perform basic hygiene and comfort measures (oral care, repositioning, catheter care per protocol).
• Maintain a clean, safe, and homelike environment in the home or care setting.
• Document all care activities, observations, and reports in the patient's record accurately and in a timely manner.
• Follow infection control and safety protocols as required by the facility and state regulations.
• Communicate effectively with consumers, families, and the healthcare team to ensure coordinated care.

Skills Ability to follow written plans of care, perform CNA skills per NCBON guidelines, work as part of a team, and communicate effectively.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift, carry, and move residents; stand, walk, and work in varied home environments.

Experience:

Prior experience in long-term care, home health, or disability services preferred. Work Environment Home-based care settings for individuals with disabilities, including adults, and geriatrics. May involve exposure to contagious diseases; must follow strict infection control measures Requires availability to work in various home environments.

Licensure :

Active CNA license in good standing with the state board of nursing; listed on the Nurse Aide Registry without substantiated findings.

Pay:

$16.50 - $19.00 per hour
