It is for a sweet lady who lives off Exit 1 in Clarkville, TN. She has dementia but she is very kind and caring. She wants to hold your hand and even kiss your hand. Her memory is very short term. She may repeat herself frequently, but she is always smiling and happy. We are there to keep her happy, safe and healthy. Our main goal is to keep her in routine. We want to establish a routine of going to bed at a certain time and waking up at a certain time. With her dementia she gets confused with her days and nights since she lives alone. If we are there to help with her night time routine, her days will be a lot better as well. At the moment, she may get up to get food/snacks during the night. We will get her a light snack and redirect her to bed. We are also there to keep her safe from any falls. If she is up, we need to be near her to help with standby assist. We are looking for someone who is extremely reliable, kind and compassionate. Familiar faces are extremely important to dementia clients. Overview We are seeking a dedicated Overnight Caregiver / Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide compassionate, high-quality care during overnight hours from Friday through Sunday, 10 PM to 8 AM. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors and individuals with disabilities by delivering personalized support in a home or community setting. Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support. Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure health stability. Administer medications accurately following prescribed schedules and protocols. Provide Alzheimer's and dementia care, implementing memory care strategies to promote safety and comfort. Support residents with meal preparation, feeding assistance, and maintaining proper nutrition. Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems to document care activities and health updates precisely. Operate equipment such as Hoyer lifts safely and effectively for resident transfers. Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties and adhering to infection control standards. Engage in behavior management techniques to support residents with developmental disabilities or behavioral challenges. Collaborate with team members and family members to ensure comprehensive, person-centered care. Requirements Valid CNA certification or relevant caregiving credentials. Prior experience in long-term care settings such as nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home care environments. Knowledge of Alzheimer's, dementia, and memory care best practices. Ability to work overnight shifts consistently from Friday through Sunday, 10 PM to 8 AM. Experience with vital signs measurement, medication administration, and use of EMR systems. Strong skills in assisting with ADLs and providing compassionate personal care. Familiarity with group home or retirement home operations is advantageous. Ability to handle physical tasks such as lifting using Hoyer lifts and assisting with mobility needs safely. Excellent communication skills along with a caring attitude focused on resident dignity and independence.
