It is for a sweet lady who lives off Exit 1 in Clarkville, TN. She has dementia but she is very kind and caring. She wants to hold your hand and even kiss your hand. Her memory is very short term. She may repeat herself frequently, but she is always smiling and happy. We are there to keep her happy, safe and healthy. Our main goal is to keep her in routine. We want to establish a routine of going to bed at a certain time and waking up at a certain time. With her dementia she gets confused with her days and nights since she lives alone. If we are there to help with her night time routine, her days will be a lot better as well. At the moment, she may get up to get food/snacks during the night. We will get her a light snack and redirect her to bed. We are also there to keep her safe from any falls. If she is up, we need to be near her to help with standby assist. We are looking for someone who is extremely reliable, kind and compassionate. Familiar faces are extremely important to dementia clients. Overview We are seeking a dedicated Overnight Caregiver / Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide exceptional care during overnight hours from Monday through Thursday, 10 PM to 8 AM. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of clients by ensuring their safety, comfort, and dignity through attentive and professional care. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient observation, medication administration, and working with individuals with various needs including dementia and memory care. Duties Monitor and observe patients overnight, ensuring their safety and well-being through regular checks and documentation of vital signs. Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, grooming, dressing, and mobility support using tools such as Hoyer lifts. Administer medications accurately following medical documentation protocols while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support clients with dementia or Alzheimer's care by implementing memory care strategies and providing compassionate companionship. Record detailed medical records using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and ensure proper documentation of patient care activities. Assist with catheter care, hospice support, and other specialized medical needs as required by individual care plans. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as laundry and meal preparation to promote overall well-being. Collaborate effectively with healthcare teams to deliver personalized patient care in home or assisted living settings. Experience Prior experience working in long-term care facilities such as nursing homes or assisted living communities is highly desirable. Demonstrated proficiency in patient observation, vital signs measurement, and medical terminology. Experience assisting individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia-related conditions is preferred. Knowledge of EMR/EHR systems for accurate medical documentation and record keeping. Certification as a CNA or equivalent healthcare qualification is required; CPR certification is essential. Familiarity with hospice care, hospice protocols, and working within home health environments enhances candidacy. Proven ability to handle caregiving responsibilities independently during overnight shifts while maintaining high standards of patient safety.
