Under the supervision of a Licensed Nurse, the Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) performs direct resident care duties within the scope of their professional certification and assist in maintain a positive physical and psychosocial environment for the residents.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including eating, bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and changing bed linens. Transfer and reposition residents safely to and from beds, chairs, and other areas. Support and participate in resident activity programs. Prepare residents for meals and snacks, assist with feeding as needed, and accurately record food and fluid intake. Follow daily care plans; perform assigned restorative and rehabilitative procedures; monitor and report changes in resident condition to the charge nurse; document care on resident records and flow sheets; and report accidents or incidents promptly. Adhere to safety and sanitation policies and promptly report injuries or violations to a supervisor. Understand, comply with, and promote all regulations and policies regarding resident rights, and encourage peer compliance. Foster positive relationships with residents, families, visitors, and regulatory representatives while maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor. Assist with resident admissions, transfers, and discharges. Fully trained and capable of serving as a Transportation Aide. Participate in training, educational activities, staff meetings, and orientation of new peers. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Must hold current state certification as a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) in good standing with the state. Must be able to interact positively with residents, families, and regulatory agencies, and work collaboratively with employees at all levels. Must be able to maintain consistent attendance and be willing to work long or irregular hours, often under pressure. Must comply with all local health regulations and successfully complete a post-offer health assessment. Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. Physical and Sensory Requirements (with or without the use of mechanical devices): Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, and community agencies. Ability to perform physical activities such as walking, reaching, bending, stretching, pulling, and lifting. Adequate fine and gross motor coordination to carry out required tasks.Work Environment:
Long-term care facility setting. Exposure to residents with varying levels of care needs. May include evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts.Core Competencies:
