(NATCEP) POOL Department Continuing Education Position Type Non-Exempt Employment Status Part-Time Salary $45.00 per hour Open Date 11/12/2025 Close Date Open Until Filled No Position Summary Information Job Description Summary A program director must directly perform nurse aide training or have general supervision of the program instructor and supplemental trainers. Position requires local travel to approved nurse aide training sites. Minimum Qualifications Registered Nurse with current RN Texas License. Two (2) years nursing experience, with at least one (1) year of providing long term care services in a nursing facility. Have completed a course that focused on teaching adult students or experience teaching adult students or supervising nurse aides. Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Ability to plan course instruction based upon approved syllabus/outline provided to ensure course content and objectives are met. Ability to utilize a variety of teaching styles and methods to accommodate diverse learning styles of students. Ability to utilize instructional technologies, including computers, internet resources, and other appropriate media in instruction. Expert knowledge and clinical nursing skills. Preferred Qualifications Higher education teaching experience. Experience developing lesson plans and curriculum for instruction. Job Duties Job Duty Directing the NATCEP in compliance with the rules and regulations set forth by Texas Health and Human Services. Job Duty Directly performing nurse aide training or having general supervision of the program instructors and supplemental trainers. Job Duty Ensuring that NATCEP records are maintained. Job Duty Determining if trainees have passed the training portion of the NATCEP . Job Duty Signing a competency evaluation application completed by a trainee who has passed the training portion of the NATCEP . Job Duty Signing a certificate of completion or a letter on letterhead stationery of the NATCEP or the nursing facility, stating that the trainee passed the training portion of the NATCEP if the trainee does not take the competency evaluation with the same NATCEP . The certificate or letter must include the date training was completed, the total training hours completed, and the official NATCEP name and number on file with HHSC .
