Job SummaryDescription of Duties Assist patients with daily activities, such as personal care, bathing, toileting, diaper care, dressing, grooming, making occupied and unoccupied beds, and mobility support. Safely move patients (wheelchair transport, transferring patients into and out of bed, wheelchairs, bathroom, showers, utilizing Hoyer lift safely, assisting in ambulation with walker or cane. Reposition patients for comfort and prevention of skin breakdown. Conduct rounds and answer call lights and telephone at the nurse's station. Ensure patients' nutritional and hydration needs are met, preparing and serving meals, assisting and feeding patients, encouraging hydration. Take and record vital signs, such as temperature, heart rate, O2 sats, blood pressure, blood glucose monitoring. Complete EKGs, fecal occult blood screening, urinalysis screening, coagulation checks. They monitor these and report any abnormalities to other staff members. Assist nurse with wound care, foley care, emptying and recording foley output, collecting stool samples. Communicate with patients, nursing and medical staff, and AIC companions. They relay patient questions and concerns to nursing and medical staff. Provide patient education and support. Ensure that safety protocols and procedures are followed, conduct fall safety checks, seizure safety checks. They also maintain a clean and sanitized environment, assist in keeping the living areas and rooms clean and orderly. Use paper and Electronic Health Records (EHRs) to document patient information and manage patient data. General clerical duties and other duties as assigned. The above information provides a generalized description of some of the activities involved in the scope of work. The contractor must be able to adapt to newly established policies and guidelines (i.e. Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organization(JCAHO), Bureau of Prisons (BOP), American Correctional Association (ACA), etc.) to the existing Certified Nursing Assistant program, as applicable, and help provide support to implement procedures accordingly.

Pay:

$24.73 - $26.78 per hour
