Responsibilities Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility, and feeding to promote independence and comfort. Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates, ensuring accurate medical documentation. Support medication administration under supervision, adhering strictly to HIPAA regulations and aseptic techniques to maintain safety and confidentiality. Provide specialized care for residents with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, implementing memory care strategies to enhance quality of life. Operate patient transfer equipment such as Hoyer lifts safely and effectively to prevent injury for residents and staff. Collaborate with nursing staff to identify changes in residents' conditions and report concerns promptly for timely intervention. Maintain a clean, safe environment by following infection control protocols and assisting with routine sanitation procedures. Skills Proven experience working in long-term care facilities such as nursing homes or assisted living communities. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and aseptic techniques essential for delivering high-quality patient care. Experience with specialized care areas including memory care, hospice, behavioral health, or ICU environments is highly desirable. Ability to perform phlebotomy procedures and manage catheter care when required. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality at all times. Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and support residents' emotional needs.
