In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely transporting patients within various healthcare settings, ensuring timely and respectful movement to appointments, procedures, or discharge. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help facilitate smooth patient flow and enhance overall care experiences. This flexible, PRN position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute your caregiving expertise while supporting diverse clinical environments. Responsibilities Safely transport patients to and from medical appointments, procedures, or discharge areas using appropriate equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary. Assist patients with mobility needs, including transferring and positioning, adhering to aseptic techniques and safety protocols. Maintain accurate documentation of patient transfers, vital signs, and relevant medical information within electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner. Communicate effectively with clinical staff to coordinate patient movement and ensure seamless care delivery across departments. Support patient care activities by providing companionship, ensuring comfort, and respecting patient dignity during transportation. Follow infection control procedures and HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality and safety at all times. Participate in ongoing training related to medical terminology, emergency procedures, and specialized care such as Alzheimer's or dementia care when applicable. Qualifications Valid CNA certification with current state licensure. Experience working with diverse patient populations, including long-term care, assisted living, or hospital settings. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation. Knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs monitoring, and basic physiology concepts. Prior experience with patient mobility equipment like Hoyer lifts or transfer devices preferred. Critical care experience or ICU background is a plus; familiarity with trauma centers or emergency medicine is advantageous. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and safety standards.
