The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients in various settings, including hospitals, nursing homes, and assisted living facilities. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care, effective communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding. Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes in patient conditions to nursing staff. Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, especially those with developmental disabilities or dementia. Assist with mobility needs using equipment such as Hoyer lifts and wheelchairs. Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to infection control protocols. Document patient care activities accurately in electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner. Support nursing staff with medical procedures as needed, including medication administration and catheter care. Engage in continuous learning regarding patient care techniques and best practices in geriatrics, pediatrics, hospice care, and acute care settings. Requirements Completion of a Nursing Assistant training program or equivalent experience in healthcare settings. Previous experience in long-term care, assisted living, or hospital environments is preferred. Knowledge of basic life support (BLS) techniques and vital signs monitoring is required. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with patients of all ages, including those with Alzheimer's or other memory-related conditions. Understanding of HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality and medical documentation practices.
