The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe administration of medications to residents in our assisted living facility. This position requires a strong commitment to patient care, adherence to HIPAA regulations, and the ability to work effectively with individuals with various needs, including those with dementia and developmental disabilities. Duties Administer medications to residents as prescribed, ensuring accuracy and compliance with medical documentation standards. Maintain detailed records of medication administration and any changes in residents' conditions using electronic health record systems such as Epic. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans for residents. Monitor residents for side effects or adverse reactions to medications and report findings to nursing staff promptly. Assist in daily living activities and provide compassionate care to enhance the quality of life for residents. Ensure that all practices comply with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of resident information. Participate in ongoing training and development programs related to dementia care, acute care, and best practices in assisted living environments. Qualifications Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting is preferred, particularly in roles involving patient care. Familiarity with medical documentation practices and electronic health record systems is highly desirable. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia is a plus. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
