Job Description

Description:
We are seeking a Home Health Aide-CNA to join Westminster Canterbury at Home team for our Hospice division. Hours are primarily days Monday through Friday. The Home Health Aide/Hospice Aide is a paraprofessional member of the interdisciplinary group who works under the supervision of a registered nurse or therapist and performs various services for a patient as necessary to meet the patient's personal needs and to promote comfort. Provide psychosocial support and personal care to the client, including bathing (tub, shower, sponge, or bed bath), oral hygiene, hair care, shampooing, shaving, skin care, nail care, foot care, and dressing Assist client with mobility, including walking, transferring, turning, and positioning. Includes the use of transfer devices such as the Hoyer lift and transfer board. Assist client with prescribed exercises to which the client and the aide have been trained Assist with toileting needs, including assistance with bedpan, urinal, bedside commode, toilet use and incontinence care Plan, shop, prepare, or assist with nutritious meals and prescribed diets; includes clean up of kitchen area Assist client to self-administer medications. Verbally prompt or assist client to respond to electronic medication reminder systems Provide homemaking services, such as bed making, light housework, and laundering. Care Plan Requirements:
Valid unencumbered Certified Nurse Assistant license Prior Hospice or Home Health Experience is preferred. Valid Virginia Driver's License with a good driving record Westminster Canterbury of Lynchburg is committed to best practices for infection control; therefore, we require all team members to receive the influenza vaccine and recommend
