Urgent Hiring: PCA/CNA in Portsmouth Area

Role Overview:

We are seeking dependable and compassionate caregivers, including Personal Care Aides (PCA) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA), to assist clients with daily living needs. In this role, you'll make a meaningful difference by providing personal support, companionship, and assistance within home and community environments.

Primary Duties:

Working under the guidance of a Nurse Manager and individualized care plans, your responsibilities will include: Providing companionship and personalized support in a home setting Assisting with movement and positioning (bed transfers, walking support, wheelchair use) Supporting meal-related tasks such as planning, shopping, and preparation Helping with personal care needs, including bathing, grooming, toileting, and hygiene Performing light housekeeping and laundry Offering reminders and assistance with self-administered medications Monitoring and documenting fluid intake/output and noting changes in condition Accompanying clients to appointments or running essential errands

Documentation & Communication:

Record care activities using an electronic timekeeping system Promptly report any concerns about client health, safety, or behavior to supervisory staff Participate in required training, including 12 annual continuing education hours and quarterly meetings

Skills & Knowledge:

Familiarity with caregiving techniques, especially for older adults Experience assisting individuals with memory-related conditions such as dementia Basic comfort using phones and email for communication Knowledge of applicable state health guidelines Strong verbal and written communication skills in English Flexibility to work in different care environments (private homes, assisted living, etc.) Commitment to confidentiality and ethical standards

Work Environment:

Services are provided in client homes or care facilities. This role requires physical effort, including lifting (up to 250 lbs with assistance as needed), bending, standing, and mobility support. This is not a remote position.

Requirements:

Minimum age of 18 High school diploma or equivalent Active PCA certification or CNA license Prior caregiving experience (at least 1 year preferred) Valid driver's license, dependable transportation, auto insurance, and current TB clearance documentation

$14.00 per hour
