Job Description

at Summersweet Garden Nursery in East Hardwick, Vermont, United States Job Description We prefer you have at least 1-year flower gardening experience, which can be from home, but an interest in the field, desire to learn and good personality are also good recommendations. We will strongly consider applicants who want to return each year to work with us. Must be prompt, reliable, physically fit, tidy, personable, and able to work with limited supervision. Must care about plants. Good customer service skills as well as clean, presentable appearance required.
General Nursery Work and Plant Care:
Includes greenhouse and fieldwork, potting plants, weeding, hoeing, planting, watering, and preparing soil. Requires some fine work with seedlings. Need to be physically fit, and able to push a full wheelbarrow from time to time. Must be able to work outside and work standing up for extended periods. Need to interact well with the public, and ideally help with sales occasionally. Helping to keep sales area tidy. Maintenance of permanent display gardens. We will train you! You will learn a lot! Work Schedule - in spring the schedule is variable and weather dependent, so some flexibility is preferred. After potting season (April), a regular schedule can be created.
