Job Description

Overview We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Registered, Certified or Home Care Aides to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. As a Home Care Aide, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients, ensuring their comfort and safety while promoting independence in their homes. This position requires a caring demeanor, strong communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals and family members. Responsibilities Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. Support clients with mobility and transfers using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary. Monitor and document vital signs and changes in client health status. Administer medications as prescribed and ensure adherence to medication schedules. Provide companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental well-being. Assist with meal preparation and nutritional needs according to dietary restrictions. Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties. Communicate effectively with family members, healthcare providers, and other caregivers regarding client needs and progress. Uphold HIPAA regulations by maintaining confidentiality of client information. Qualifications Experience in caregiving or home care settings is preferred; familiarity with senior care is a plus. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support techniques is beneficial. Previous experience in critical care, long-term care, assisted living, nursing homes, hospitals, or hospice care is highly valued. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner is advantageous for efficient medical documentation. Understanding of special needs related to Alzheimer's care, dementia care, developmental disabilities, or behavioral health is preferred. Ability to perform tasks related to phlebotomy, catheter care, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring is desirable. Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with diverse populations including pediatrics and geriatrics are essential. Must be able to pass background checks as required by state regulations.
