This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills while making a positive impact every day. Responsibilities Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility using equipment like Hoyer lifts and other assistive devices. Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration; accurately document findings in electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner. Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper techniques and adherence to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or other memory impairments, including engagement in therapeutic activities. Help maintain a safe environment by following aseptic techniques during procedures such as catheter care and infection control protocols. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in diverse settings including hospitals (Level I Trauma Centers, ICU, PICU), nursing homes, assisted living facilities, outpatient clinics, and home care environments. Assist with medical procedures such as phlebotomy or basic life support when trained and certified to do so. Support patients with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs by providing respectful and personalized care tailored to their unique requirements. Requirements Valid CNA certification from an accredited program; active license required. Experience working with individuals with disabilities, dementia care, or in settings such as long-term care, hospice, or acute care preferred. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks; experience with medical documentation is a plus. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and infection control practices including aseptic technique. Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments such as emergency medicine, urgent care, or hospital medicine units including ICU and trauma centers. Strong communication skills and the ability to work compassionately with diverse patient populations including pediatrics and geriatrics. Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and safely assist patients using lifts or other mobility aids.
