Memory Care Director Job Summary We are seeking an experienced, compassionate, and dedicated Memory Care Director to lead and oversee our specialized Memory Care community. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring exceptional resident care, regulatory compliance, staff development, and daily operations for residents living with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, and other memory-related conditions. Qualifications Required Qualifications Experience working with individuals living with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, and other cognitive impairments. Knowledge and experience with staff scheduling systems and scheduling databases. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills. Ability to balance employee needs while ensuring adequate staffing levels and operational requirements are met. Ability to represent the community in a professional and positive manner. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. Ability to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation. Essential Responsibilities Leadership & Operations Serve as Manager on Duty during assigned shifts in the absence of the Administrator or Health Services Director (HSD). Supervise, mentor, and support caregiving staff to ensure quality resident care and compliance with community policies and procedures. Assign caregiver responsibilities and monitor completion of assigned duties. Participate in caregiver onboarding, orientation, and ongoing training. Provide feedback regarding staff performance and contribute to performance evaluations. Manage staffing coverage for call-offs and schedule adjustments. Address resident family concerns and complaints professionally and ensure appropriate documentation and follow-up. Assist with community tours and resident/family inquiries as needed. Coordinate and report facility maintenance concerns to appropriate departments. Resident Care Management Oversee daily resident care and ensure individualized care plans are implemented effectively. Communicate with residents, families, physicians, hospice providers, therapists, pharmacies, and other healthcare partners. Monitor resident health status and report changes in condition to appropriate clinical leadership. Respond appropriately to resident emergencies and determine when medical intervention or emergency services are necessary. Ensure accurate documentation of incidents, accidents, observations, and resident care updates. Record, implement, and monitor physician orders according to established procedures. Participate in medication management, including medication administration, documentation, narcotic counts, and maintaining orderly medication records and storage areas. Lead first aid, safety, and emergency response efforts during assigned shifts. Conduct shift-to-shift communication and reporting to ensure continuity of care. Staffing & Scheduling Develop and maintain staffing schedules to ensure appropriate coverage and quality care. Collaborate with Human Resources regarding staffing needs, recruitment, employee status changes, and workforce planning. Maintain attendance records, including vacations, sick leave, leaves of absence, holidays, and other employee absences. Assist with scheduling staff training, in-service education, and required certifications. Support facility policies and procedures, including employee uniform and attendance standards. Additional Responsibilities Participate in staff meetings, training programs, and quality improvement initiatives. Perform other duties as assigned by the Administrator. Support the overall mission, values, and goals of the community. Work Schedule Full-time position paying $26 - $30 per hour Weekend availability may be required. Must be available to respond to operational and resident care needs as necessary.
