Job Overview We are seeking an experienced and passionate Memory Care Director to lead all clinical, operational, and programming aspects of our memory care neighborhood. This is a senior leadership role for a skilled dementia care professional who thrives in a structured yet dynamic environment and is committed to delivering best-in-class outcomes for residents and families. The ideal candidate brings both clinical knowledge and strong management capabilities, and is ready to build and lead a high-performing care team. Responsibilities Provide overall leadership and direction for the memory care neighborhood, ensuring the highest standards of resident care, safety, and dignity Develop, implement, and continuously improve person-centered dementia care programming and daily engagement activities Supervise, coach, mentor, and evaluate all memory care staff including caregivers, activity aides, and care coordinators Manage staffing levels, scheduling, and performance to ensure consistent, high-quality care delivery Conduct and oversee thorough resident assessments and individualized care plan development in collaboration with the care team and families Serve as the primary point of contact for memory care resident families, building trust through proactive, compassionate communication Ensure full compliance with California CDSS Title 22 regulations specific to memory care and RCFE operations Lead incident documentation, investigation, and reporting in accordance with regulatory requirements Collaborate with the Executive Director and regional leadership on census development, move-in coordination, and community tours for memory care prospects Monitor neighborhood budget, supply utilization, and labor costs Oversee proper medication management protocols in coordination with the care team Champion staff education and training in evidence-based dementia care practices, including de-escalation and behavioral intervention techniques Maintain a positive, structured, and nurturing neighborhood culture that supports both residents and staff Requirements Minimum 3 years of experience in memory care or dementia-specific senior living leadership California RCFE Administrator Certification preferred or ability to obtain Deep working knowledge of Alzheimer's disease, related dementias, and person-centered care principles Strong background in care plan development, resident assessment, and family communication Proven supervisory and team-building experience in a senior living or post-acute setting Solid understanding of California Title 22 RCFE regulations Certification in dementia care (CDP, CADDCT, or equivalent) strongly preferred Experience with behavioral intervention, redirection techniques, and non-pharmacological approaches to dementia-related behaviors Proficiency in senior living software and documentation systems Ability to work on-site full-time and respond to after-hours needs as required Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with staff, families, healthcare providers, and community partners.
