Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Assisted Living Director of Nurses to lead our nursing team in delivering exceptional care to our residents. This pivotal role combines clinical expertise with strong leadership, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, maintaining high standards of resident care, and fostering a positive environment for staff and residents alike. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in assisted living, nursing home operations, and healthcare management, demonstrating a passion for enhancing quality of life through personalized care. Duties Oversee daily nursing operations within the assisted living facility, ensuring smooth shift management and optimal staffing levels. Develop, review, and update individualized care plans tailored to each resident's needs, incorporating input from interdisciplinary teams. Supervise and mentor nursing staff, including nurse managers and direct care providers, fostering professional growth and accountability. Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations such as HIPAA and state licensing standards. Manage medical records using Electronic Medical Record (EMR). Coordinate with physicians, home health agencies, hospice providers, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive resident care. Monitor medication administration processes, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and proper documentation. Lead efforts in quality assurance initiatives focused on improving resident outcomes and satisfaction. Facilitate staff training on medical terminology, physiology, anatomy knowledge, and documentation review procedures. Manage shift schedules efficiently to ensure continuous coverage while maintaining staff well-being. Experience Proven experience in assisted living with a strong background in nursing administration. Supervising or nurse management experience is essential; prior leadership roles in healthcare settings are highly valued. Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and care planning processes. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems used for medical records management and documentation review. Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams effectively while fostering a culture of compassion and excellence. Strong understanding of shift management practices within fast-paced healthcare environments such as home health or hospice care settings is preferred.
