Job Description

As a nonprofit Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC), we offer a full continuum of care including independent living, assisted living, memory care, and healthcare services, tailored to the evolving needs of seniors. We are committed to enhancing lives, sharing resources, and collaborating with local organizations to foster a supportive, vibrant, and inclusive community. •Covid-19 vaccine is strongly encouraged, however not required• The Independent Living Life Enrichment Coordinator is responsible for working with the Life Enrichment Team in all aspects of planning and facilitating activities and events primarily for Independent Living Residents at Westminster Village. The Independent Living Life Enrichment Coordinator will be actively involved with Residents and focus on Resident satisfaction.
Qualifications:
Must enjoy interacting with elderly population
Education:
High School Diploma - preference given to candidates with a BA in recreation or other field related to care of seniors Has experience in working alone an in developing events/programs Dedication to senior population and their unique needs and concerns Capable of sensitive and effective communication both verbally and in writing to professionals, residents, and families, entertainers, educators, and staff members Ability to manage multiple objectives and tasks Has demonstrated creativity relative to event planning and communication Must be able to communicate in the English language Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move equipment, supplies, or materials weighing a minimum of fifty (50) pounds
Shift:
Full time, Monday - Friday dayshift, with some evenings and an occasional weekend need Starting at $18/hour
Duties Include:
Utilize community resources, residents, volunteers, and entertainers to schedule activities and special events that meet residents' needs and interests. Encourage and invite family participation. Communicate with other departments and staff at Westminster as needed to ensure successful programming. Publicize programming to all appropriate residents, visitors, volunteers and departments through the use of various communication channels including electronic and print media. Support opportunities and transportation for residents to engage in various community activities in the local area. Assist with welcoming new residents and associates. Maintain adequate supply and activity equipment while keeping within budgetary guidelines and maximizing resources for benefit of the residents.
