JOB SUMMARY
Overall management of the building and maintenance of the physical plant and grounds. Performs the delivery of services to residents and supervises the delivery of services, in coordination with the RN. Assists in developing services and/or programs to meet the needs of the resident community.
Assisted Living Facility:
Houses 30+ residents with various cares done through-out the day

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
With Respect to
Residents and Occupancy:
Monitors and documents any residents who are not meeting the residency requirements, calling conferences with the resident and/or the resident's responsible person, makes recommendations for more suitable options and, if necessary, begins the process to terminate the residency agreement in coordination of the Executive Director and Director of Health Services. Maintains necessary documentation for each resident, such as assisted living contract and verification that the tenant and/or resident responsible party receives information required under the assisted living contract. Coordinates with the RN, the resident, the responsible person, the county caseworker, and others when a tenant is having difficulty meeting the residency/service requirements or when the resident's needs are likely to exceed the services available Maintains positive relationships with residents, their families, housing, and the larger community. Meets monthly with residents and/or their delegated representative to ensure satisfaction. Assures follow-through of a quality social/activities program for the residents. Project Operation:
Responsible for retention, supervision, disciplinary action of employees, coordinating with the RN when necessary. Performs performance reviews and annual evaluations for each employee. Orients staff to the Assisted Living Program, to the organization's mission, to emergency procedures, privacy issues and other policies and procedures of the organization. Approves absence requests, sick leave, etc. for employees. Responsible for the oversight of Shift Leader every day for a minimum of one year of training and as needed Coordinates staff education to include annual in-service covering OSHA, infection control, emergency procedures and all training as required by the current Assisted Living license. Responsible for ensuring the staffing pattern and staffing numbers meet the needs of the residents and services to be provided in coordination with the clinical nurse supervisor. Establish and monitor the implementation of routine preventative maintenance and housekeeping programs in coordination with the assisted living director Identify and oversee the correction of any health or safety hazards in the building or on the grounds. Establish routine tests of building "Emergency Plans" and systems and update these plans and systems as necessary, with training for staff. Responsible for being a part of the Quality Assurance Committee, Safety Committee, and any other overseeing that all facilities are prepared for MDH Survey or Special Investigations Conduct ongoing evaluation of food service quality, nutrition and variety of menus and implement necessary changes in coordination with the cooks and resident recommendations. Inventory, order and control supplies and equipment. Work with maintenance to receive repair requests and schedule service. With Respect to
Project Management:
Assures building is in compliance with federal state and local standards and regulations. Is available for license surveys. Routinely inspects buildings, grounds, and equipment for update and condition. Makes weekly 'rounds' of outside grounds and inside building to assess areas in need of improvement based on physical appearance in the public's eye. Corrects immediately. Collects monthly rents and all additional revenues. Communicates with RN, Administration and Bookkeeping on all resident move ins and move outs, transfers and hospital stays. Advises supervisor of potential improvements, budget issues, methods of improving operations and all issues pertinent to building/resident/staff/community Handles resident and employee grievances and documents in coordination with the assisted living director Maintain open lines of communication with residents and staff to monitor levels of satisfaction/dissatisfaction and responds appropriately if changes are needed in policy, procedure, etc. Sends all requested information to supervisor/corporate office on a timely basis Maintains an up-to-date knowledge of current trends and new developments in the Assisted Living with dementia care and senior housing field. Other duties as assigned.

Follows up as appropriate with supervisor, co-workers or residents regarding reported complaints, problems, and concerns. Promotes positive public relations with residents, family members, and guests. Completes requirements for in-service training, acceptable attendance, uniform and dress codes including personal hygiene, and other work duties as assigned.
