Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Administrator in Training (AIT) to join our team in a structured program designed to prepare you for licensure as a Nursing Home Administrator in Montana State. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about long-term care leadership, quality resident care, and facility operations. In this hands-on role, you'll work directly under an experienced preceptor in a Montana State-licensed nursing home. You'll gain broad exposure to all aspects of LTC operations through rotations and real-world projects, building the skills needed to lead high-quality care teams. Key Responsibilities (Under Preceptor Supervision) Participate in all areas of facility operations, including administration, nursing, HR/staffing, finance/budgeting, admissions, dietary, activities, social services, maintenance, and regulatory compliance. Assist with quality improvement initiatives, policy development, and resident/family relations. Support leadership in meetings, performance management, and problem-solving projects. Complete required training hours and learning activities toward Montana State AIT program requirements (typically 1,500 hours / ~9 months). Learn budgeting, revenue/expense reporting, and compliance with federal and state regulations. Act as a positive role model for our mission of exceptional resident-centered care.
Requirements / Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (required; healthcare administration, business, or related field preferred). Strong interest in pursuing Nursing Home Administrator licensure in Montana Previous experience in healthcare, long-term care, or management is a plus but not required. Excellent communication, leadership potential, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Commitment to completing the AIT program and NAB exam.Montana State specifics:
Must meet DOH requirements, including a bachelor's degree and completion of an approved AIT program before taking the NAB exam.
