The Home Manager provides ongoing, high-level household support to Orderly's clients, ensuring their homes run smoothly and efficiently. While our organizing team builds the systems, the Home Manager maintains them. This role goes beyond basic tidying—it involves proactive household management, including meal prep, laundry, restocking supplies, running errands, and coordinating vendors. The Home Manager is a trusted partner to the client, reducing their mental load by anticipating needs and keeping the day-to-day operations of the home on track.Please note:
Orderly provides organization and home management services, but we do not offer deep cleaning services.Key Responsibilities:
1. Household Maintenance & System Upkeep- Maintain the organizational systems previously implemented by the Orderly team (e.g., resetting the pantry, tidying the mudroom, organizing incoming mail).
- Perform light, daily tidying to keep the home functional and visually calm (excluding deep cleaning or scrubbing).
- Ensure high-traffic areas like kitchens and living spaces are reset at the end of each shift. 2. Meal Preparation & Kitchen Management
- Assist with weekly meal planning, grocery shopping, and pantry restocking.
- Perform light meal prep, such as washing and chopping produce, preparing snacks, or assembling basic meals according to client preferences.
- Manage food inventory, checking expiration dates and clearing out old items from the fridge and pantry.
- Handle daily dishes, load/unload the dishwasher, and keep the kitchen counters clear. 3. Laundry & Wardrobe Management
- Manage the household laundry cycle, including washing, drying, folding, and putting away clothes and linens.
- Handle delicate items according to care instructions and coordinate dry cleaning drop-offs and pickups.
- Maintain closet organization, ensuring clothing is hung or folded neatly and seasonal items are rotated as needed. 4. Errands & Inventory Management
- Run household errands, including grocery shopping, pharmacy pickups, post office runs, and processing returns or exchanges.
- Monitor and restock essential household supplies (e.g., paper products, toiletries, cleaning supplies).
- Keep an ongoing inventory of household needs and communicate shortages to the client or Owner. 5. Vendor Coordination & Household Admin
- Act as the point of contact for household vendors (e.g., landscapers, repair technicians, pest control) when the client is unavailable.
- Assist with light household administration, such as sorting mail, breaking down boxes, and managing package deliveries.
- Communicate proactively with the client regarding completed tasks, upcoming needs, and any issues that arise in the home.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
1.Proactive Problem-Solving:
- Ability to anticipate household needs before the client has to ask.
- Resourceful and capable of handling unexpected changes or requests with grace and efficiency.
Detail:
- Strong understanding of organizing principles and the ability to maintain established systems.
- High standard of care when handling client belongings, clothing, and household items.
Trust & Professionalism:
- Exceptional reliability, punctuality, and discretion. The Home Manager works intimately within clients' private spaces and must maintain strict confidentiality.
- Friendly, professional demeanor and excellent communication skills.
Physical Ability:
- Capable of lifting, moving, and carrying household items, groceries, and laundry.
- Able to stand, bend, and move actively throughout the home for the duration of the shift.
Education & Experience Requirements:
Preferred:
2+ years of experience in household management, personal assisting, professional organizing, or a related hospitality/service role.Required:
High school diploma or equivalent.- Must have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and a clean driving record for running errands.
- Must pass a comprehensive background check.
Work Environment:
- Flexible hours based on client needs, typically scheduled as recurring weekly or bi-weekly shifts, typically M-F 8am-4pm
- Work takes place primarily within clients' private residences in the Central Ohio area.
- Regular local travel required for errands and vendor coordination.
Compensation & Benefits:
- 1099, Hourly wage based on experience, starting at $20/hour.
