This position will initially serve as both the lead implementation coordinator for SCC's newly funded vocational expansion initiatives and the operational leader of SCC's vocational and independent living programming. During the first phase of implementation, this individual will directly support vocational programming operations, staff development, employer partnerships, independent living programming, and onsite support systems while helping build long-term infrastructure for SCC's growing programming. During the initial phase of program expansion, this role will include a combination of leadership, program development, and direct service responsibilities. The Vocational & Independent Living Program Manager will provide direct vocational support and job coaching alongside staff in order to help establish strong systems, program design, community partnerships, and operational consistency across SCC's expanding vocational and IL department. As the department expands over time, responsibilities are expected to gradually evolve toward increased program leadership, supervision, and strategic oversight. This role will supervise Vocational & Independent Living Instructional Leads and Instructors while supporting the continued expansion of SCC's vocational pathways, Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS), independent living support programming, and community employment partnerships. The ideal candidate is both relationship-centered and systems-oriented, capable of building sustainable infrastructure while remaining highly engaged in direct member support and community-based programming. This position reports directly to the Executive Director and serves as a member of SCC's leadership team. Vocational & Independent Living Leadership Lead SCC's vocational, employment, and independent living programming initiatives Oversee vocational exploration, Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS), vocational readiness, independent living support programming, and future employment initiatives Support development of long-term pathways focused on autonomy, workplace readiness, and adult independence Ensure programs align with SCC's mission, values, and person-centered philosophy Grant Implementation & Program Development Serve as the lead coordinator for SCC's vocational expansion grant initiatives, including Canopy Foundation-funded projects Support implementation timelines, operational planning, and program rollout Develop sustainable systems for vocational and independent living programming operations Collaborate on grant reporting, data collection, outcome tracking, and implementation goals Help establish scalable infrastructure for future department growth Direct Vocational Support & Job Coaching Provide direct vocational support and job coaching for members during the department's initial growth phase Support members in community-based vocational placements and employment exploration opportunities Model best practices for vocational staff and instructional leads Help establish systems, workflows, and support strategies through direct program involvement Support transportation, communication, workplace navigation, and member success within community employment settings Staff Supervision & Leadership Supervise Vocational & Independent Living Instructional Leads and Instructors Provide coaching, mentorship, training, and accountability to team members Support hiring, onboarding, and training of future vocational staff as programming expands Foster a collaborative, mission-centered team culture Employer & Community Partnerships Develop and maintain relationships with employers, schools, vocational partners, and community organizations Expand community-based vocational exploration and employment opportunities Collaborate with employers to support inclusive workplace experiences for SCC members Represent SCC within workforce development and disability inclusion spaces Member & Family Support Support members in identifying strengths, interests, goals, and pathways toward greater independence Collaborate with caregivers, school teams, DVR counselors, and community partners as appropriate Help ensure vocational and independent living opportunities remain person-centered and accessible Qualifications Bachelor's degree in social work, education, psychology, rehabilitation counseling, nonprofit leadership, or related field Minimum 3-5 years of leadership or supervisory experience within disability services, vocational programming, workforce development, transition services, or related fields Experience providing direct vocational support, job coaching, or employment services for individuals with disabilities Experience working with neurodivergent individuals and/or individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities Strong organizational leadership and relationship-building skills Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities Commitment to inclusion, autonomy, dignity, and person-centered support Preferred Qualifications Experience with Pre-ETS, DVR systems, supported employment, or transition-age programming Experience implementing grants or developing new programs Experience building employer partnerships and community-based vocational opportunities Experience supervising multidisciplinary teams
Compensation & Benefits Pay Range:
