Prior experience working with people with intellectual/developmental disabilities and mental health issues is required .
General Statement of Duties :
This position is responsible for management of day-to-day operations of supported living home(s) serving adults with developmental and physical disabilities, meeting all aspects of service delivery needs, and overall assurance that staff are well-trained, supervised and evaluated in performing their duties.
Team Supervisory and Resident Support Duties:
  • Keep certifications and competencies current and be able to perform all functions of medication administration.
  • Oversee day-to-day functions at the home; communicate or proactively delegate any identified needs for health and safety such as medical equipment, noting behavioral patterns, home repairs, etc.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing levels in the home each day. Resolve staff scheduling issues as they arise during the week, including arranging shift/vacation coverage or assuming shift(s) if needed.
  • Ensure smooth running of the home by monitoring electronic documentation, problem-solving with the team and following up on individual care needs.
  • Perform spot checks on key delivery areas (e.g., resident care, cleaning, documentation, attendance etc.) and coach staff as needed.
  • Assist in onboarding and oversee new hire training and ongoing education of team members in the home. Train and orient new staff to resident plans, interests, and communication styles. Ensure basic certifications and CEUs of staff are kept timely. Work to provide additional training in areas specific to resident support needs.
  • Assist in staff achieving competency in electronic documentation tools. Recognize teachable moments with staff job performance and address when corrections in techniques or protocols are in order.
  • Supervise staff and be a resource for problem-solving, identify disciplinary issues and address them constructively to maintain a stable home environment for the residents.
  • Work with HR to perform and follow up on employee needs, annual evaluations or address disciplinary issues.
  • Be a knowledgeable, professional and reliable resource for residents and their families/ guardians, medical providers, case managers, etc.
  • Be the on-call or part of an on-call rotation for the home to provide backup. Be part of the overall organization on-call manager rotation.
  • Attend and contribute to resident person-centered support plans and annual assessments. Assist in data collection, writing and reporting of resident plans such as IISPs, functional assessments, behavior support plans, etc.
  • Work as part of the care team to arrange and attend resident appointments, shopping, activities, errands, transportation for same, etc.
  • Assist in care of the residents when needed, especially during emergency situations.
  • Advocate for the well-being and quality of life of the residents. Spend time with them to assess changes in affect/health and to ensure they are provided with meaningful activities based on their preferences and personal goals.
  • Serve and work collaboratively as a member of the Leadership team, support organization functions and projects, and attend meetings as scheduled.
  • Drive an agency-owned vehicle for the purpose of performing company business or taking a Loved One to an appointment or other activities.
  • Perform other duties as necessary or assigned.
Pay:
$29.00 - $32.00 per hour
