Job Description

Assistant Professor Graduate Program, Nurse Practitioner Department Family Nurse Practitioner & Directorof Clinical Education (12-month, Tenure Track) June 23, 2026 Samford University's Moffett & Sanders School ofNursing invites individuals interested in serving in a Christian university environment to submit an application for a full-time assistantprofessor faculty position. This faculty position is a 12-month, tenure track appointment. The individual hired in this position will beresponsible for classroom/online teaching, clinical supervision, and simulation of graduate nursing students in courses with FNP content.

The position may be associated with two or more courses each semester depending on need. This position also includes serving as Director ofClinical Education for the graduate nurse practitioner program, with responsibility for oversight of clinical placements, site approvals,and coordination of clinical learning experiences. The person filling this position must be willing to work days, evenings, and occasionalweekends as need dictates. Qualified candidates will hold a doctoral degree in nursing from a regionally accredited school ofnursing, hold an unencumbered RN license in the state of Alabama and have a clear background check. They must have a minimum of five yearsof FNP clinical practice experience within the last 10 years. Previous teaching and clinical supervisory experience with graduate studentsis preferred. Previous experience teaching online is preferred. Salary is dependent upon qualifications, clinical experience,previous experience as a nurse educator or in providing clinical oversight of students in the clinical arena. The College of HealthSciences is an innovative initiative for Samford University.
