Job Description

JOB Position Summary:
The Associate Faculty - Nursing Lab is responsible for providing an invaluable service to the College and our students by providing instruction of nursing students in the skills lab and simulation lab and related courses for majors and non-majors district-wide. Instruction is provided via a variety of media, including face-to-face courses, blended learning, and online throughout Cochise County and our entire services area.

Note:
Cochise College requires a post offer, pre-employment background screening of all employees.

Compensation:
$900 per equated credit unit
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Duties and Responsibilities:
Within the scope of college policies and procedures, this position: Teaches assigned courses to enrolled students and manages a diverse population of students in a classroom, laboratory, or in an online environment Develops, prepares and implements lesson plans; conducts pre- and post-assessment of students; evaluates, assesses and plans for the students' educational and social needs Collaborates with other faculty and staff in assessment of teaching strategies and the effectiveness of the instructional program to help promote a culture of continuous improvement Maintains student records, statistics, and/or other pertinent information as required by the college and the department Resolves issues relevant to area of responsibility and scope of authority, referring more difficult or complex problems to the appropriate Department Chair, Dean, or other College official Performs other related duties as assigned
General Expectations:
Employees are expected to accomplish assigned duties in an efficient, effective and competent manner and to strive for improvement and excellence in all work performed. Additionally, employees must understand the comprehensive role of the community college and cooperate and work harmoniously with students, faculty and staff, and the public. Employees will follow all college policies, rules, regulations and guidelines as they relate to this position.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Work Environment:
Work is primarily performed under general supervision in a typical classroom or laboratory setting with appropriate climate controls. Includes possible exposure to mechanical and chemical hazards.
Physical Requirements:
Essential functions of this position require: lifting, manual dexterity, fine and large motor skills, ability to communicate. May require travel, working evenings and weekends.
Light Work:
Exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds requires a good deal of walking or standing
Mental Application:
Utilizes memory for details, verbal instructions, emotional stability, critical thinking, adaptability and creative problem solving skills are important Reports to: Director of Nursing
