Position Overview:
This is a fiscal-year (12-month) clinical assistant, clinical associate, clinical professor faculty position with an administrative appointment as Associate Program Director, DNP-Nurse Anesthesia concentration. This position reports to the Program Director and the Sr. Associate Dean of the Academic Enterprise.
Position Summary:
The Associate Program Director (APD) provides leadership and administrative support to the Program Director in the development, implementation, and ongoing management of the nurse anesthesia program. The APD shares responsibility for curriculum oversight, teaching, nurse anesthesia resident support, and continuous quality improvement. This position plays a key role in the initial accreditation of the doctoral-level program and contributes to infrastructure and policy development. The APD participates in program governance and serves as the primary administrative designee in the absence of the Program Director to ensure continuity of leadership and compliance with Council on Accreditation (COA) standards. Essential Functions Duties and Responsibilities Assists in the leadership, daily operations, and strategic planning of the nurse anesthesia program in collaboration with the Program Director. Functions as the primary administrative designee for the Program Director, assuming full authority and responsibility for program operations and accreditation compliance in the Director's absence to ensure administrative stability. Participates in activities related to initial program development, including the preparation of capability documents, self-studies, and readiness for COA review. Collaborates on curriculum design, implementation, and the delivery of didactic, simulation, and/or clinical instruction. Assists in managing clinical site affiliate relations, including conducting and documenting formal site visits to evaluate facility adequacy and ensure safety policies are enforced. Participates in the systematic evaluation of resident performance and program outcomes through continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities. Contributes to doctoral-level scholarly activities, including the mentorship and evaluation of Nurse Anesthesia Resident scholarly projects. Support faculty and resident recruitment, orientation, mentoring, and development. Contributes to the Edson College strategic plan. Engages in faculty governance.
