Job Description

THIS POSTING IS FOR A NURSE WHO IS CURRENTLY WORKING IN ACUTE CARE
setting ie: Telemetry, Emergency Room, Medical Surgical , etc (one year minimum). Under the direction of an Instructional Administrator, a Regional Occupational Program (ROP) instructor provides instruction to secondary school students in competency-based, career technical education courses in order to prepare them for college and career. ROP classes are taught by instructors who have trained and worked in the industry they are teaching. Once hired, instructors must enter a teacher credential program and ROP provides additional training and coaching support. Many ROP classes provide real-world experience by placing students in work-based learning. Please refer to the instructor's job description for specific responsibilities, knowledge, skills, abilities, and requirements. Three (3) years of industry work experience directly related to the Patient Care - Nurse Assisting pathway (for Credential eligibility). Applicant must have at least earned a high school diploma to meet CTC CTE requirements for CTE Credential.
Teaching Credential:
The successful candidate must qualify for or possess a California Career Technical Education (CTE) or
Designated Subjects Teaching Credential:
Health Science & Medical Technology. NOCROP will assist you in starting the credentialing process. Detailed information for obtaining a Designated Subjects Career Technical Education credential may be found at https://www.ctc.ca.gov/credentials/leaflets/designated-subjects-(cl-888). Applicant must possess and provide documentation of a current CA license as a Vocational or Registered Nurse. Applicant is required to have a CA LVN or RN license and a minimum of two (2) years of recent experience in the nursing field (must be provided on the applicant's résumé with dates of service, position roles and responsibilities with supervisor name and contact information). Minimum one year of acute hospital care nursing experience, in addition, must be currently working in an acute care hospital setting, i.e., Telemetry, Emergency Room, Medical Surgical, etc. North Orange County ROP will review the applications submitted to select those candidates who appear to possess the most extensive and relevant experience or abilities for the position. Not every candidate who meets the minimum qualifications is interviewed. It is, therefore, important to ensure your application is thorough, detailed, and clear.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The required physical requirements for the position include: walking, talking, sitting, standing, bending, stooping, hearing, reaching above the shoulders, the ability to lift at least 50 pounds, and visual acuity (including color, depth perception, and field of vision).
