As part of our interview process, qualified candidates will be required to complete a knowledge assessment and perform a 5-skill practical return demonstration. Key Responsibilities Curriculum Delivery :
Deliver an engaging classroom curriculum that thoroughly prepares students for the 70-question state registry written examination. Skills Lab Instruction :
Teach, demonstrate, and coach students through the 5 core practical skills required for state certification, emphasizing mandatory hand hygiene and critical measurement tolerances. Regulatory Compliance :
Ensure all classroom and lab training adheres strictly to state regulatory frameworks, monitoring Key/Bold steps, safety milestones, and indirect care rubrics. Clinical Supervision :
Supervise and mentor students during hands-on clinical rotations at partner facilities, maintaining mandatory student-to-instructor ratios and ensuring patient safety. Student Mentorship :
Implement the "Teach-Back" methodology to evaluate and improve students' clinical reasoning, communication skills, and safety awareness. Documentation :
Maintain accurate student records, attendance logs, and skills check-off sheets in compliance with state Department of Public Health guidelines. Required Skills & Qualifications Clinical Expertise :
Mastery of basic nursing skills, infection control protocols, personal care procedures, and measurement tolerances (Blood Pressure, Pulse, Respirations, and Output). Testing Framework Familiarity :
Deep understanding of state testing vendor guidelines ( Headmaster or Credentia frameworks), including specific scoring rules and automatic failure thresholds to guide student success. Instructional Style :
Dynamic communication skills with the ability to effectively teach adult learners and simplify complex clinical regulations. Core Safety Focus :
Instinctive commitment to patient dignity, resident/client rights, HIPAA compliance, and physical safety protocols (e.g., gait belt usage and brake checks). Education, Experience, & Licensing Requirements Certification :
Must hold a current, active Director of Staff Development (DSD) certification. License :
Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) license in the state of practice. Experience :
Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least one year preferably spent in a long-term care, skilled nursing, or home health environment. Teaching Experience :
Prior experience as a CNA instructor, nurse educator, or clinical preceptor is highly preferred.
