Job Description
LaGrange College seeks to fill tenure-eligible appointment at the assistant or associate professor level in Nursing beginning August 1,2026. Field of specialization is open, but preference will be given to candidates with expertise in pediatric or medical surgical nursing. An MSN and unencumbered licensure are required for the position; a Doctor of Nursing Practice or Ph.D. in nursing education isrequired for a tenure-track appointment. Outstanding candidates still earning their doctoral degree will be considered, but the successfulcandidate must have their terminal degree completed prior to the end of their second year in the position. The teaching load is 24credits annually, as appropriate to the successful candidate's field(s) of specialization in nursing, and includes courses that satisfy thecollege's general education curriculum, known as Ethos. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching, professionaldevelopment, and institutional service, as well as an understanding of, and appreciation for, the mission of liberal arts institutions. The nursing program maintains a close relationship with West Georgia Medical Center (Wellstar) and the Children's Hospital of Atlanta(CHOA). Through both a solid grounding in theory and engagement in the field (via clinical experiences, collaborative undergraduateresearch, and other opportunities) nursing students receive a thorough, intensive, and experiential education in the discipline. The nursingprogram recently received an unqualified re-accreditation from ACEN through 2032.
