This is an accelerated, 11-week quarter-based program, located in Jeffersonville, IN. At Caris College we believe in student-centered learning. Our curriculum is designed with a focus on active learning, minimizing lecture time, and maximizing hands-on experience. We believe in wrapping support around our students, helping them to reach their goals, while holding them accountable for their individual learning.

Job Summary:
Adjunct instructors/clinical instructors are required to provide instruction and monitor learning/teaching effectiveness in courses assigned by the Program Director. They are responsible for, but are not limited to, the following: Prepare and, on the first day of class, distribute course syllabi which informs the students as to absences, tardiness, testing, assignments and grading policies. Inform students of their progress by promptly returning assignments, quizzes, tests and homework. Compile, administer, and grade instruments that evaluate student progress. Encourage the use of school resources, outside library and internet sources. Counsel students and notify student and Program Director of frequent absences, failures, or necessary make-up work. Hold all assigned classes on time in the assigned classrooms and be available to students 15 minutes before class, except between classes (if teaching courses back-to-back), and 15 minutes after class to offer guidance/tutoring to students. Follow procedures related to the Registrar's office, including grade papers and deadlines, attendance record reports, withdrawal deadlines, midterm reports and the like. Follow the academic calendar and procedures. Direct library research or other outside assignments. Promote Caris College programs and curricula. Update syllabi, as needed. Substitute for colleagues when necessary. Provide a safe environment for students and be responsible for the security of assigned equipment, materials and classrooms. Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director.
Educational Requirements:
Must meet ABHES, KCPE and BPE instructor qualifications. Must hold a Bachelor's degree in nursing or higher for PN. Must hold a Master's degree in nursing or higher for ASN.
