Job Description
Education/Licensing:
Possesses an earned baccalaureate or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution. Is a licensed Registered Nurse holding an unencumbered license in the state of Indiana.Work Experience:
Has a minimum of 2 years licensed nurse experience, with at least one year in the provision of long-term care services. This work experience must have been completed in the past ten (10) years and must be verifiable by providing a signed letter from previous employer(s).Preferred Qualifications would include:
Previous experience as a qualified CNA program director in the state of Indiana. Ability to teach CPR classes through one of the following: Possesses current American Heart Association (AHA-BLS) Instructor Certification, or Possesses current American Red Cross (ARC) CPR Instructor Certification. Assist in the achievement of the short and long-term educational goals of the school corporation. Serve as the instructional leader in the classroom. Organize and maintain course content with current industrial needs and standards. Prepare lessons, teaching aids, and supplementary instructional materials. Lecture, demonstrate, and present audio-visual programs to groups to promote and enhance vocational education programs. Conduct individual instruction on project activities and related technical information. Counsel students on group and individual problems and situations. Evaluate student progress, issue grades and reports; prepare, record, and report class attendance; handle injuries and file accident reports with office. Inventory supplies and equipment and prepare budget requests for the area. Maintain physical facilities of the training area. Cooperate with program advisory committee. Assist students with job placement and conduct employment follow-ups. Prepare for open house activities. Serve on faculty committees. Handle discipline problems within classroom areas, arrange and conduct parent conferences; assist in building discipline and security. Supervise paraprofessional, student, and volunteer helpers.
