Term I Term ISeptember•December Monday 8:00 A.M.•2:35 P.M.PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
To work cooperatively with and under the direction of the Director of Practical Nursing in the development of and implementation of the Practical Nurse curriculum.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Participate in the development of policies and procedures for the program 2.Participate in curriculum design and evaluation of program outcomes 3.Use a variety of strategies to assess and evaluate learning in the cognitive, psychomotor, and affective domains 4.Implement a variety of teaching strategies appropriate to learner needs 5.Create an environment that facilitates student learning and the achievement of desired cognitive, affective, and psychomotor outcomes 6.Engage in self-reflection and continued learning to improve teaching practices that facilitate learning 7.Serve as a role model of professional nursing 8.Maintain and update Scope and Sequence and competency lists as instructional materials are added or deleted in alignment with the Test Plan for the National Council Licensure Examination for Licensed Practical Nurse (NCLEX-PN) 9.Remain current with changes in industry, technology and education 10.Attend conferences, seminars, workshops related to field(s) of instruction 11.Write new curriculum or modify existing curriculum as program changes in alignment with the Test Plan for theNCLEX-PN
12.Ensure all grades, deficiencies, and clinical evaluations are completed as directed and turned in on time 13.Maintain up-to-date Curriculum Binder(s) containing all instructional materials, ie. worksheets, articles, tests, pertaining to all courses to which he/she is assigned to teach 14.Make effective use of preparation time 15.Follow individual Department Policy and Procedures 16.Complete professional improvement as outlined in the Teachers' Contract 17.Assist in the preparation of purchase orders, quotes and bids 18.The faculty will participate in the governance as a component of their role responsibilities. 19.Perform additional assigned tasks as directed by immediate supervisor, Assistant Superintendent/Principal or Superintendent-DirectorOrganization Relationships:
1.Responsible directly to Director of Practical Nursing. 2.Must work cooperatively with all teachers (especially those within his/her department), Administrators, Professional and Support Staff 3.Supervise the work of students where applicable Qualifications (Preparations, Experience, Competencies, Personal Attributes): 1.Occupational Educational Certification where applicable 2.Licensure as a Registered Nurse in Massachusetts 3.Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university 4.Minimum experience of 2 years of clinical experience within past five years. 5.Evidence of clinical competence in the area of clinical instruction required 6.Ability to develop new instructional materials 7.Ability to revise and modify existing curriculum materials 8.Excellent management and organizational skills 9.Excellent communication skills 10.Excellent interpersonal relations skills 11.Some experience operating Computer Hardware and knowledge of softwarePosition Type:
