Job Description:
McDaniel College invites dedicated, student-centered nursing educators to join our Department of Nursing as Full-Time Faculty (Open Rank). We seek a collaborative and mission-driven colleague who will bring passion, expertise, and innovation to our Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program. The successful candidate will contribute to the continued growth and excellence of our program by teaching across classroom, simulation, laboratory, and clinical environments, while advancing academic quality through the Systematic Evaluation Plan. This 12-month faculty position plays a central role in preparing future nurses to provide compassionate, evidence-based care and to excel as leaders in a dynamic healthcare environment. Responsibilities:
Teach a full-time academic load across classroom, simulation, nursing skills lab, and clinical settings. Develop, deliver, and assess course materials, assignments, and exams aligned with program learning outcomes. Maintain current and accessible instructional content in collaboration with nursing faculty colleagues. Evaluate student learning and provide feedback that supports progression, retention, and professional growth. Participate in curriculum planning, evaluation, and continuous improvement through the Systematic Evaluation Plan. Teach and assess clinical judgment and decision-making consistent with nursing curriculum standards. Oversee precepted clinical experiences and ensure compliance with clinical site requirements. Advise and mentor undergraduate nursing students in academic and professional development. Participate in departmental and college service, including committee work and governance activities. Support program accreditation, compliance with the Maryland State Board of Nursing, and related reporting. Contribute to the recruitment, orientation, and mentorship of nursing students and faculty. Maintain clinical competence and engage in scholarly and professional development activities. Participate in faculty evaluation processes and maintain documentation required by the College. Partner with the Office of Admissions and the Nursing Program Director to represent the program at recruitment events, class visits, and outreach activities. Reflect McDaniel's values through proactive, caring, and responsive engagement with students and colleagues.
Requirements:
Master's degree in Nursing required; Doctoral degree preferred. Active, unencumbered Maryland RN license or multistate privilege to practice registered nursing. Minimum of two years of current clinical experience as a registered nurse. Expertise in nursing practice relevant to assigned teaching areas. Two or more years of college-level teaching experience preferred. Demonstrated proficiency in nursing practice, teaching strategies, and curriculum development. Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with students, faculty, and clinical partners. Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and commitment to inclusive pedagogy. Proficient in the use of technology. Understanding of accreditation and regulatory requirements in nursing education. Valid driver's license and proof of automobile insurance. Candidates must comply with all related federal, state, and local regulatory guidelines including, but not limited to, FERPA and Title IX.
