The full-time Welding Faculty member teaches a variety of Welding courses. These classes are primarily held on the Niles, MI campus and may be day or evening hours.Required Qualifications:
Associate's degree in a trades program with welding-related coursework; OR, an Associate's degree and a certificate/certification in welding with two years welding experiencePreferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Masters in a related field Prior teaching experience Proficient computer skills, includingMicrosoft Suite Other Information:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepares and provides all lecture and laboratory instruction according to the required curriculum Maintains current course outlines, objectives, and evaluation mechanisms for the program Facilitates high quality instruction through the delivery of course content and materials Utilizes active and collaborative learning strategies and a variety of other pedagogies to engage learners Demonstrates safety protocols and assures a safe environment for students, faculty, and staff Demonstrates a deep commitment to every student's success Mentors part time faculty Maintains standing as a subject matter expert by remaining current and connected to the field Serves as a contributing member to the School of Business and Advanced Technology Serves on college committees Demonstrates a deep commitment to diversity and treats others fairly, with courtesy, and respect Brings credit to Southwestern Michigan College through demonstrating the highest level of professionalism The duties listed in this job description are not all-inclusive, but a list of the major responsibilities.
