Nursing - Adjunct Faculty Job Description Adjunct faculty position teaching in clinical or laboratory courses working with undergraduate students in a BSN nursing program. Clinical/lab teaching could include medical/surgical, mental health, public health, maternal health, and pediatric nursing dependent on current needs of the program. At Bethel, we offer classes that are 1, 2 or 4 credits. Adjunct load will vary based on capabilities of the Adjunct Professor and needs of the department. What you'll do Teach in clinical settings per specialty area Teach in the nursing skills and simulation labs Evaluate students in clinical and/or skills, including performance exams Contribute to an academic environment that seeks to advance diversity and inclusive excellence in the department and the discipline Attend scheduled teaching team meetings Qualifications Skills Staying up-to-date on the latest advances in medicine and changes to best practice standards for patient care in your specialty area Commitment to Bethel's core values Commitment to exploring connections between nursing and the Christian faith Commitment to excellence in teaching Enthusiasm for teaching and nursing practice Ability to mentor nursing students; identifying growth opportunities and educational needs Facilitate clinical judgment development Effective communication and leadership skills Flexibility and ability to adapt Organized with attention to detail Ability to work with a team Understanding of and commitment to Bethel's efforts to develop as an inclusive university community Experience A minimum of 5 years clinical experience in specialty area. Previous experience as a nurse educator in an academic setting or as a preceptor of students or new nursing employees would be an asset.
