Adjunct - Associate Degree Nursing Instructor Holmes Community College - 4.3 Ridgeland, MS Job Details Part-time 14 hours ago Qualifications RN License Full Job Description For consideration, a completed Holmes Community College on-line employment application is required. Summary The department is creating a pool of potential part-time instructors to teach various courses and conduct clinical instruction as the need arises. Day/Evening/Weekend Duties and Responsibilities 1. Attend required faculty meetings and overview sessions. 2. Perform the duties and functions of an adjunct instructor as they pertain to the teaching of course work and clinicals. 3. Prepare course materials, organize classes, keep student records, maintain classrooms and equipment, and other duties related to the instructional process. 4. Coordinate the teaching process with the needs of various occupations. 5. Perform all related and implied duties as may be directed Minimum Job Requirements 1. Master's degree in the teaching discipline or master's degree with a concentration in the teaching discipline (a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline) preferred. Equivalent Education, related work experience, demonstrated competencies in the discipline, and achievements that contribute to effective teaching and student learning outcomes will be considered. 2. Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in Mississippi. 3. Minimum of one (1) year clinical experience in nursing practice. 4. Recent teaching experience in RN education preferred. 5. Applicants with community college teaching experience preferred. 6. Applicants must possess an understanding and commitment to the comprehensive community college philosophy. 7. Applicants must have excellent references from previous employers and/or professors.
Licenses, Certificates or Registrations:
Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse with an unencumbered license in Mississippi. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to provide physical and psychological support to students and patients. Proficient in clinical skills. Ability to critically think. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications. Database management skills. Knowledge of human resources concepts, practices, policies, and procedures. Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments. Ability to create, composes, and edits written materials.
