SUMMARY:
The Nursing Clinical Adjunct is responsible for the general effectiveness of clinicalexperiences. Adjunct Faculty has a primary responsibility for preparing and teaching clinical and/or laboratory nursing courses. The NursingClinical Adjunct works with the Lead Clinical Faculty, Clinical Coordinator, and the Program Director.
KEY JOB ELEMENTS
TheNursing Clinical Adjunct is an adjunct clinical instructor who: Supervises students in clinical practice, internships,observations, field experiences, nursing labs, and other similar course and graduation requirements Counsels or refers students withidentified clinical performance problems. Maintains the highest moral and ethical standards as an educator, as a nursingprofessional, and as a responsible member of the community. Debriefs and evaluates students in clinical practice, observations, andfield experiences. Teaches the number of hours and courses stated in the employment contract for the stated timeperiods. Meets all clinical and other scheduled responsibilities such as office hours and meetings at the designatedtime. Articulates course learning outcomes or objectives to ensure student understanding of course learning objectives andexpectations. Creates course materials required to deliver course information in an understandable and interesting manner to ensurestudents are engaged with the course material to facilitate achievement of the course learning outcomes. Adheres to identifiedoffice hours and be available to assist students to understand course content and/or clinical scenarios to facilitate the comprehension ofmaterials through one-to-one meeting or in assists students to master course material by being available through "office hours" and or smallgroup sessions
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree: with a master's degree in nursingpreferred Unencumbered RN nursing License Two years' experience in the clinical specialty area Membership in aprofessional association related to area of instruction preferred. Current knowledge in the area of clinicalpractice. Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to build successful relationships with studentpopulations. Outstanding conflict resolution skills. Demonstrated time management and detail-orientedskills Computer based skills (i.e., software, analytical, and report writing skills) Demonstrated clinical competency andprofessional standards of practice. Ability to work effectively under pressure and to meet frequently occurringdeadlines. Ability to develop a professional rapport with diverse school/campus constituents. Ability to develop andcomplete projects without continued direct supervision Ability to learn from students' participation, demonstrates fair andconsistent behavior in all matters, and shows compassion without being ineffectual Ability to perform with legal and ethicalboundaries.
