tharrell@ncwu.edu The Department of Nursing at North Carolina Wesleyan University is seeking qualified, student-centered professionals for the position of Adjunct Nursing Clinical Faculty. These part-time positions are responsible for supervising nursing students in clinical settings and facilitating the integration of theory into practice.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and evaluate nursing students in assigned clinical settings. Facilitate safe, evidence-based patient care practices. Provide timely, constructive feedback to students through formative and summative evaluations. Collaborate with course faculty and clinical site staff to ensure clinical learning is consistent with course and program learning outcomes. Evaluate student performance using established clinical evaluation tools. Ensure compliance with program policies, accreditation standards, and clinical agency requirements. Attend required faculty meetings and training sessions. Participate in program evaluation and quality improvement processes. Participate in reporting to maintaining compliance with NCBON regulations and accreditation standards.
Qualifications:
Education Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required. Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) or Doctorate in Nursing or related field preferred. Licensure & Certification Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North Carolina. Certification in nursing education (e.g., CNE) preferred. Experience Minimum 3-5 years of clinical nursing experience. Prior teaching experience in clinical nursing education preferred. Experience with clinical coordination and healthcare partnerships preferred. Seeking candidates with strong background in medical-surgical, critical care, public health, pediatric, and maternal nursing.

Strong clinical expertise and procedural proficiency. Excellent organizational and coordination skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to foster collaborative relationships with healthcare partners. Proficiency in educational technology and learning management systems. Commitment to student-centered teaching and inclusive learning environments. This is an adjunct position for clinical supervision assignments in the traditional prelicensure BSN program.
