Reporting to the Dean of Nursing and Health Professions, the Assistant Professor is responsible for providing instruction and support to prelicensure nursing students within the Division of Nursing and Health Professions at Rivier University. Duties and Responsibilities

• Candidate must possess a keen interest and enthusiasm for engaging, teaching, working and mentoring nursing students in community health theory and clinical, fundamentals of nursing theory, simulation and skills lab and health assessment.
• Candidate must possess simulation and strong clinical skills and experience in community health, fundamentals, and health assessment.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues both within the department, throughout the University community and within the clinical settings outside of the University.
• Candidate must engage in on campus presence, hold on campus office hours and participate in departmental and University wide committees.
• Flexibility in scheduling is required as some teaching is required in both the day BSN and ASN evening programs.

This position reports to:

Direction and general supervision are received from the Director of Undergraduate Nursing Education and the Dean of Nursing and Health Professions.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:

• Master of Science Degree in Nursing is required.
• Doctoral preparation preferred.
• Academic teaching experience preferred.
• Unencumbered NH RN license (or eligibility for licensure in NH).
• Unencumbered Massachusetts RN license (or eligibility for licensure in MA).
• Demonstrated ability in and commitment to teaching excellence in a broad range of undergraduate clinical and didactic courses including research methods.
• Desire to mentor undergraduate students in their course work and career goals.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to engage in critical thinking and exercise independent judgment.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage confidential information.
• Ability to collaborate with other faculty and staff and maintain collegial relations.
• Self-starter, ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form.
