Job Description

Plaza College invites applications for the position of nursing faculty (full-time) in their upper division Nursing (B.S.) Program. Applicants must have both recent clinical and teaching experience in one or more of the following specialty areas:
  • Health Assessment
  • Medical-Surgical Nursing
  • Pharmacology
  • Mental Health Nursing
  • Maternal-Child Nursing
  • Community Nursing
  • Nursing Simulations All faculty must be available to teach on-site at the Plaza College campus in Forest Hills, Queens.
Courses run three semesters per year (Sept-Dec, Jan-April, May-Aug).
QUALIFICATIONS
Requirements include Master's Degree in Nursing, RN licensure in NYS, and appropriate specialized experience.
Preferred qualifications include:
  • Prior clinical nursing experience
  • Prior teaching experience with a strong preference for teaching
  • Experience using instructional technology
  • Experience with student-centered and high-impact pedagogy
  • Experience with course and/or program assessment About Plaza College Plaza College is excited to announce the approval of its Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a program developed to specifically address the needs of the healthcare workforce serving our diverse local community.
The program builds on the College's 105 year history and complements its existing offerings through an emphasis on patient-centered care that identifies, respects, and addresses patients' differences, values, preferences, and expressed needs. This unique, and highly sought-after, B.S. in Nursing program serves an untraditional market with career changers and adult learners completing their degree in 16 months. Students benefit from an advanced Center for Healthcare Simulation - a 5,000 square foot suite featuring high fidelity patient laboratory space where students will develop and perfect patient care skills essential to shaping expertly-prepared professional nurses. Plaza has partnered with a number of our local hospitals and healthcare centers to meet the needs of not only our students' clinical rotation curriculum, but our partners' ongoing human resources demands. Being located in such a uniquely diverse Borough brings the need for a diverse workforce that can effectively relate to and communicate with an equally diverse patient pool.
