About The Position:
Expected to begin in Fall 2026, these 10-month, tenure-track positions are unique opportunities to join a faculty who encourages educational mobility and supports a mission that emphasizes excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service. Duties are expected to include teaching courses such as Nursing Foundations, Health Assessment, OB, Pediatrics, and/or Care of Adults. Clinical supervision of students in a hospital and/or lab setting is also included. The Department of Nursing offers programs that are fully accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education and well-established at the university. We are part of the School of Education, Health, and Human Services (EHHS), which prepares students for successful entry into their profession. We focus on an ethical approach to human well-being and encourage critical thinking and practical application. As an institution that delivers challenging and high-quality educational experiences to a diverse group of learners, the successful candidate must demonstrate an understanding of and sensitivity to diversity, inclusion, and equity-minded policies, programs, and practices. The successful candidate may be asked to teach courses in a distance learning format.
Required Qualifications:
Master's degree in Nursing, as well as unencumbered eligibility for licensure as a Registered Nurse in New York State Relevant clinical nursing experience Strong communication skills The ability to create new connections with practice partners Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collegially with faculty, staff, and administrators
Preferred Qualifications:
An earned Doctorate in Nursing or related field Successful curriculum development experience Undergraduate college teaching experience, including use of high-fidelity simulation Experience teaching in distance learning format Nursing Practice relevant to position Salary (Applicant View) $68,000 minimum, plus excellent benefits About Our University SUNY Plattsburgh, home of the Cardinals, is part of the largest comprehensive university system in the United States.
